Coupons to be piloted on the My Charity Shop app
Eproductive are currently developing discount coupons that you scan at the till using the My Charity Shop app. Nottinghamshire Hospice Charity plan to pilot the scheme and test redemption percentages in different shops, (e.g. offering a 10% off coupon in one shop and 20% off in another). Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) will build on the huge success of their recent Clan CHSS loyalty scheme by using Eproductive’s planned digital coupons module to distribute discount coupons to redeem in-store. CHSS signed up over 10,000 customers to Clan CHSS in just three months, and an amazing 13% of all their shop transactions used a Loyalty ID over this period.
Across all UK retail the figures are equally impressive with over 90% of consumers having used a discount code or coupon. Paypal / Global Research figures show spending is 24% higher when using a coupon and shoppers are twice as likely to buy a product if it is discounted by 20%. For charity shops they also present a great way to clear out old stock donations.
The current delivery method for coupons breaks down as follows:-
The majority of coupons (54%) are delivered via an app.
18% are sent via direct mail (e.g. Tesco / M&S)
14% digital codes at checkout (e.g. SAVE20)
14% via magazine inserts, in-store handouts or coupons on receipts
Since most Eproductive charities now use the My Charity Shop app on which Gift Aid donors can install their card, it makes sense to add coupons, redeemed simply by scanning a QR code at the till.
Later this year we expect to have more news on the results of our pilot Coupons Module, and plans to add a digital loyalty card to the My Charity Shop app.
